Dell Introduces New XPS 15 Laptops With Coffee Lake Processors
After the recent release of Intel’s new Coffee Lake desktop and mobile chips, plenty of laptop manufacturers have given their models a much-needed refresh. Dell has recently announced an update to their popular XPS 15 laptops with minimal bezels. The new versions can be equipped with an impressive Core i9 hexacore processor coupled with a beefy GTX 1050 Ti GPU.
The exterior design of the XPS 15 9570 has been left unchanged, and the laptop maintains its slim bezel exterior. The 9570 is mainly identical to the previous-generation 9560, but with Coffee Lake processors. The most expensive variant of the laptop will come with very impressive specifications and a Core i9 8950HK CPU, which features six cores, is overclockable and operates at a clock speed of 2.9 GHz.
The Core i7 8750H chip will also be made available in the XPS 15 laptops, which is a hexacore as well and runs at 2.6 GHz.
In terms of other specifications, there will be multiple configurations of Dell’s latest laptops. Screens with a mat Full HD panel will be available, while there’s also a more expensive 4K option with touchscreen and 100% coverage of the Adobe RGB color space.
The graphics are being handled by either a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or GTX 1050 Ti which come with 4 gigabytes of video memory. The Ti-version offers a noticeable performance improvement of about 20%. Multiple storage options are also widely, and users are presented with a choice between SSDs and traditional hard drives.
The starting price of the new Dell XPS 15 models will be $999 and shipping starts this May.
