ASUS Reveals VG255H Monitor For Console Gamers
ASUS has introduced a display in its gaming series, the VG255H. Remarkably, this new monitor isn’t aimed towards pc users, but console gamers instead. The VG225H has a screen diagonal of 24.5 inches and features a regular Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution.
It’s clear that ASUS is prioritizing speed as their new gaming monitor uses a TN panel with a very fast response time of just 1 ms. The maximum refresh frequency is 75 Hz and there’s full support for AMD FreeSync.
In terms of specific features for gaming, the monitor’s software features a number of ASUS GamePlus extra’s such as an on-screen crosshair or a built-in framerate counter. The VG225H is also equipped with GameFast Input Technology which should help to deal with input lag, and there are six preconfigured presets for different gaming genres.
The monitor does seem to lack a bit in the connectivity department, as there are only two HDMI 1.4a ports available as well as a regular VGA/D-Sub connection. However, these two HDMI ports would be all console gamers would need.
The design of the display allows for tilting, adjusting in height and the screen can also rotate 90 degrees to portrait mode.
ASUS hasn’t released details about pricing or availability on the VG255H yet.
