ASRock Shows Its First Phantom Gaming AMD Graphics Cards
Rumors have been circulating for a while now that motherboard manufacturer ASRock would be expanding into a new market of graphics cards, which has now been officially confirmed by the company itself. It will join brands such as Gigabyte, MSI, and ASUS who produce both mainboards and graphics cards. ASRock has presented its Phantom Gaming series of GPU’s, aimed towards the gaming market.
At the moment, ASRock is only releasing AMD-based graphics cards and it’s unclear whether or not the company will also release graphics cards with Nvidia chips as well. The company has shown the Radeon RX 550, RX 560, RX 570 and the RX 580. At the moment, no Phantom Gaming graphics cards with the RX Vega 56 or 64 GPU have been announced.
The lower-end to mid-range RX 550 and RX 560 graphics cards will come in two variants, one with 2 GB of VRAM and a more expensive version with double the amount of memory. The RX 570 and RX 580 on the other hand, will only release in an 8 GB option. All of the cards come with an adjusted cooler with dual ball layered fans. The RX 580 will feature a dual-fan setup. All of the Phantom Gaming cards will also have slightly higher clock speeds than the reference GPU’s.
Pricing and availability details haven’t been announced yet, although we’ll likely start seeing these Phantom Gaming cards by ASRock pop up in stores soon.
