Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed until October 2018
Rockstar Games had some bad news for eager fans of Red Dead Redemption 2. On the company’s official blog, it was confirmed that the long-awaited sequel has been delayed until October 26th of this year.
The post provided little in the way of details regarding the reason for the delay only saying that the team felt like the game needed more time for polish. This would imply that the core gameplay and everything is mostly complete. It is likely that the team is focusing on bug fixes and refining the gameplay systems.
The team did promise that it would provide more information about the game in the coming months, but for now, we don’t have much beyond the slightly disappointing release date.
Of course, fans of Rockstar’s games are no stranger to delays and long wait times in between games. The most recent entry in the main Grand Theft Auto franchise was released in 2013 and while we’ve gotten some spin-offs since then, no new installments have been released in the main franchise.
That being said, Rockstar’s games are usually worth the wait as they pack in tons of content and an interesting story into their signature style of open world games. Besides, given that the first Red Dead Redemption released in 2010, fans of the series are likely simply happy to know that the game has a confirmed release date.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in October of this year.
