Elon Musk’s Boring Company Really Is Selling a Flamethrower
Have you ever wanted to own your very own flamethrower? Well thanks to Elon Musk’s Boring Company, you will soon have that chance. In order to help raise money for his latest venture, Musk has started selling some interesting products. The first was a series of $20 “Boring Company” hats. However, Musk promised that if those sold well enough, he’d then offer a Boring-branded flamethrower.
After 50k hats, we will start selling The Boring Company flamethrower

Hats sold out, flamethrowers soon!

As of right now, there’s been no official announcement regarding the flamethrowers, but a link has appeared on the Boring Company’s website. That link leads users to a password protected page. However, one user correctly guessed it as “flame” and took a screenshot of the flamethrower’s landing page.

Sadly, the site’s password has since been changed.
It is possible that the Boring flamethrower is simply a PR stunt that will never make it to market, but Musk has a well-earned reputation for strange business ventures so we’re not ruling this one out. Though, we aren’t too clear on how well this one will sell. Spending $20 on a novelty hat is one thing, but dropping $600 on a flamethrower is a completely different matter. Beyond that, consumers would be well-advised to check their local laws and regulations before purchasing one.
The Boring Company itself is Musk’s latest venture. The company’s goal is to eventually create a system of affordable, energy-efficient, public transit that can serve as a replacement for trains and even airplanes. The company’s long-term success is unclear, but Musk has made stranger things work in the past such as SpaceX so we won’t bet against the Boring Company just yet.
