God of War Release Date Announced
Sony has announced the release date for the long-awaited sequel/reboot of God of War. The game will launch be available on PlayStation 4 on April 20th.
The announcement was made on the official PlayStation blog by Cory Barlog who said that the upcoming release date was the favorite of his career. He noted that the game’s release was a bittersweet moment. The team has been working on God of War for five years. While he’s excited to see the game released to the public, he’s also sad that the game’s development is coming to an end.
In addition to the release date, the team also gave us a new trailer. The trailer gives us some more information about the game’s plot, the motivations of Kratos as well as some new action scenes.
While this particular title is not numbered, the context of the trailer makes it appear that this game will take place after the events of God of War III so this is not a direct reboot. Rather it appears to be an unnumbered sequel which will serve as the beginning of a new chapter in the life of Kratos and his young son.
