Microsoft Employee Installs Chrome After Edge Crashes During Demo
Despite Microsoft’s best efforts to make us fall in love with its new browser, Edge still comes across as a bit of a joke. The browser is slow, clunky and lacks the extensions that make Google Chrome so nice to use. Worst of all, however, is the fact that Edge isn’t even very stable. In our, admittedly limited, use of the browser, we’ve dealt with multiple crashes and frozen pages. In fact, it is a running joke that Edge is only used to download other browsers. Even Microsoft seems to follow that philosophy as a recent video shows.
During an Azure demonstration, a Microsoft employee was forced to pause his work and download Google Chrome because Edge kept crashing. After a few moments of hesitation, the speaker informed his audience that he would have to pause and download Chrome. The video was then uploaded to YouTube by Microsoft.
In his defense, the employee handled the situation well enough even with the audience laughing and chuckling behind him. At one point, he even joked that his mistake “is not going to help make Google better” when asked to share browser data with Google.
The whole incident lasts about four minutes before he gets back to his demonstration. You can check it out below. The bit with the browser starts around 37:10.
