MSI Announces Its Next Stealth Notebook
MSI has announced its latest gaming-focused notebook with the GS63 7RD Stealth. Unlike previous incarnations, the GS63 is not VR-compatible. Instead, MSI is hoping to make its line of ultra-thin gaming notebooks more affordable.
The GS63 will feature Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 2GB graphics card. While it might not be VR-ready, the GS63 should run the latest games without any trouble. The display will be a 15.6-inch HD display capable of running games at a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
As is often the case with such laptops, memory and storage will vary depending on how much you’re willing to pay, but will offer up to 32GB of DDR4-2400 memory. In, addition, the notebook will support a single 2.5 HDD or SDD.
The GS63 won’t lack for accessory support as it features three 3.0 USB ports, a single USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.1 type-C port which is compatible with Thunderbolt. Internet access is provided by a Killer E2400 gigabit Ethernet port and Killer N1535 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
In terms of size, the GS63 will be 14.96 x 9.8 x 0.69 inches and weigh little under four pounds. This makes it the same size as its predecessor, but the GS63 does provide users an improved battery feature a 4-cell battery compared to the 3-cell found on other models. In addition to being the same size, the GS63 also features a backlit keyboard similar to previous models so it should make it easier to game in the dark.
MSI has not announced the release date or price of the GS63 though we expect the price will vary based on how much memory you need. We’ll have more information on the GS63 7RD Stealth as we get closer to its launch which we expect to be sometime soon as MSI likely wants to take advantage of the holiday rush.
