Nintendo Switch Back In Stock At Toys R Us This Weekend
We’re a month out since the launch of the Nintendo Switch. Customers are still having trouble finding the console in stores and online and it appears that Nintendo didn’t expect this much demand for their hybrid console. Nintendo doubled expectations for the Switch from 8 million units to a whopping 16 million units. If you’re still searching for the Switch, this weekend Toys R Us is getting more stock.
Toys R Us says stores across the country will get more stock on Sunday, April 9. The company expects the limited stock to sell out quickly, which goes without saying. Gamestop had customers lined up hours before stores opened the last time they received stock. The Toys R Us stores open at 10 am, but the company recommends lining up before hand.
Toys R Us getting more limited stock of the Nintendo Switch
All Toys R Us stores will likely have lines, so you’re going to need to show up early to get the console. If you don’t have time to wait in line your best be is still to either wait longer or try calling your local GameStop or Target. Both retailers have occasionally gotten more stock of the consoles, but they haven’t been issuing press releases unless they’re sure every store will get them.
Nintendo’s original goal was to sell 2 million units in the first month. Which is possible with the demand the company saw. If the stock shortages didn’t bottleneck sales, Nintendo is likely succeeding their expectations. Many have already claimed that the Switch is selling faster than the Wii. The Wii still has the title of being one of the quickest and best-selling consoles.
