Microsoft Will Unveil Project Scorpio Within The Next Couple of Weeks
According to Windows Central, Microsoft will unveil Project Scorpio within the next couple of weeks. This would change the E3 launch time, weeks before the original date. Windows Central claims Microsoft will use Forza 7, Battlefront 2, and Red Dead Redemption 2 to showcase the 4K capabilities of the new upgraded Xbox console. The rumors point to Microsoft unveiling the new console as soon as this week and later as next week. Either way, the upcoming announcement will bring excitement before the E3 gaming conference.
Microsoft is working on 4K game DVR, 4K super sampling for 1080p TVs, and other features to drive home the value of 4K in today’s gaming world. Microsoft is trying to drive value for the new console, instead of making it an “Xbox One.5” like Sony did with the PS4 Pro.
Project Scorpio will have a large library of 4K games
Project Scorpio will have a large library of launch games because some games use dynamic scaling to stay stable on the Xbox One. Those games will have the ability to scale all the way up to 4K resolutions on the Scorpio console. This will give the console the content worthy of purchasing an upgraded Xbox. Something many people are arguing isn’t worth it. Sony has upgraded users to the PS4 Pro, but the titles with 4K resolution have been slim.
The PS4 Pro and Project Scorpio will have the same power capabilities as first outlined. If Microsoft is using Rockstar games like Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2, many users might upgrade just for those games. Beyond the 4K capabilities, it’s unclear if the new console will offer any significant features for Xbox users to upgrade to.
