Listings Reveal RAM Speed And Possible Pricing For AMD’s 500 Series Graphics Cards
After months of speculation, the listings for AMD’s 500 series graphics cards have begun to appear on manufacturer’s websites. These listings reveal the naming conventions used for these cards, their RAM, and even provide a bit of insight into the price structure.
Asus listed the AMD RX 550, RX 570, and RX 580. These three models each come in different varieties. The RX 550 offers 2GB and 4GB editions whereas the RX 570 and RX 580 offer 4GB and 8GB of RAM, respectively. The latter also appear to come with factory overclock settings as well.
While Asus’s offerings are buried on their website, Radeon’s were leaked to an online retailer. Raedon offers the same models as Asus though Raedon’s 580 will also come with a 4GB option. Some of the pricing options for Raedon’s offerings can be seen below. They appear to be priced for the Eurozone and it is unclear as to how the prices will convert to other regions.
MSI is also offering their own versions of AMD’s cards with the 570 and 580 appearing on their website. These cards offer the same memory options as the other versions listed here.
It’s possible that the prices listed on the various retailers sites are merely placeholders, but, if not, we can get an idea of the pricing structure. The 550’s price ranges from about 75-100 Euros. Based on current conversion rates, the 550 could cost anywhere from $80 to about $105 USD. That is not factoring in either the Eurozone’s VAT tax or U.S. sales tax which varies depending on your individual state.
The 570 is a bit more expensive ranging from about 156 Euros to 165 Euros. The U.S. price could range anywhere from $166 to $176.
The most expensive offering is the RX 580 which varies from 200 to 225 Euros. Again, without factoring in taxes, the U.S. price could be anywhere from $213 to $240.
Keep in mind that none of these prices are official and are subject to change.
