Play The NES Classic With The Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Controllers
Nintendo first released a gaming console 1990, and ever since they’ve been making beloved games and franchises. The recent Nintendo Switch launch brought us a new type of controller; the Joy-Con controller. The controller is a mix between the old school classic Nintendo controller and the more modern gaming controllers we see with the PS4 or Xbox One. Now a new adapter for the NES Classic lets you use the new Joy-Con controller with the NES Classic.
The $17 adapter plugs into the NES Classic and lets the Joy-Con controller connect via Bluetooth. This means you can play all 30 games on the Classic with the Joy-Con controller or a Switch Pro controller. The lack of a direction pad and somewhat odd button layout, the controller might not be the best fit for playing Classic games. It’s a wonderful addition for anyone who wants to have a wireless controller for the Classic.
Use a Joy-Con Controller with the NES Classic
The Nintendo Switch will get classic games via the virtual console, but we’re still little ways off until the launch of the feature. If you own both the NES Classic and the Nintendo Switch buying the adapter for the wireless controller support is a solid deal. The wireless controller and adapter bundle on Amazon is $39.99, almost double the Joy-Con adapter cost.
The addition is a great retro and new mix that I’ll give a whirl once Amazon ships out the adapter. Many NES Classic users more often than not already own a Switch so spending another $16 won’t break the bank. I’d get the adapter while it’s still in stock, considering everything Nintendo related is having a hard time staying in stock.
