Nintendo Switch Gets Official Unboxing Video
The Nintendo Switch launch day is only ten days away and we’ve seen a handful of videos of the unit – and thanks to those videos – we now have an unofficial unboxing. The videos were all due to one retailer accidentally shipping the console out early. Now Nintendo has decided to release their official unboxing video finally.
While the video doesn’t show us anything we haven’t already seen, we’ve gotten confirmation that all the ones floating around are real.
Nintendo Switch official unboxing shows everything players will get
The video shows everything players will get out of the box on March 3rd, 2017. That includes the Joy-Con controller and other included accessories. There aren’t any clips with the interface included, but we’ve seen leaked videos and images. The company also outlined how they’re stopping future leaks, along with how this leak happened. Nintendo claims the Switch consoles were stolen. They don’t outline how many or from which retailer, but they did say the employees who took the consoles were terminated.
In this statement to IGN, it was brought to light that individuals purchased a small number of units from an unnamed retailer. These units were actually stolen by employees at a U.S. distributor and one was resold illegally. Those employees were identified, fired, and now may face legal prosecution.
As the launch nears, we’ll get more pieces of news along with more leaks around what the console and services will include. The Switch launches March 3rd in all regions. Tell us your thoughts.
