EVGA Launches Two New Cooling Units
EVGA has launched two new closed loop liquid CPU cool units. They are available in two radiator sizes: 120mm and 240mm. EVGA promises that the Closed Loop CPU Cooler 120 and 280 will provide users with high performance, low noise, and customizable software controls.
Both models come with EVGA’s new fans which the company says are designed to increase airflow and reduce noise. The curved house is designed to lower noise while the blades’ design will help increase the cooling process. The fans can spin at a maximum speed of 2,200 RPM. The Closed Loop Cooler 120 will come with a single 120mm fan whereas the 280 will come with two 140 mm fans.
Aside from the fans, the Closed Loop Cooler also comes with a new cooling flowrate and transfer area that is supposed to increase efficiency. Additionally, the software will allow you to customize and control fan speed, pump control, and other features.
EVGA’s software will also give users control over the cooling unit’s LED lighting allowing them to control the color and lighting settings. Luckily, you’ll only have to adjust these settings once as the cooling unit’s settings are saved to firmware.
As a general rule, EVGA makes good products so these fans should be well-made, but the price will be something to take into consideration. Cooling units aren’t a major expense so you’ll have plenty of options. If the lighting isn’t important to you then you’ll probably be able to find some cheaper alternatives.
