AMD is gearing up for the Ryzen launch in Q1 of 2017. The company revealed new CPU coolers, 17 “extreme performance” pre-built PCs designed around Ryzen, and 16 high-end motherboards that use the new unified AM4 socket. AMD still hasn’t locked down a date for when the launch will happen, but they’re gearing up with the new motherboard designs.
ASUS showed off the two motherboards in their AM4 lineup. They included the the X370 Prime and ROG Crosshair VI Hero. Both motherboards are aimed at enthusiasts and overclockers. MSI said they’ll have at least three new gaming series segments which include X370, B350 and A320 chipset based designs. There will also be one for Enthusiast Gaming, Performance Gaming, and Arsenal Gaming series. AORUS is the new subdivision of GIGABYTE. They’ll have at least six new motherboards.
While these motherboards are prominently from specialty manufacturers, AMD says there will be these AM4 motherboards from mainstream PC makers. We’ll see those around the time of launch, which still doesn’t have a date. The current list of partners who have built Ryzen rigs include:
