Dishonored 2 Gets Huge Update
Bethesda today delivered, as promised, a big update to their hit stealth game Dishonored 2, which adds a mission selection option as well as added difficulty setting to the game. Besides these, the update also patches a host of smaller gameplay and graphical issues.
The Dishonored 2 update was available to Steam gamers a few days ago in a beta version, but today it was made public for gamers across the PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms. The biggest change for most gamers will be that they can now customize the difficulty of the game — a much sought-after feature — using twenty different sliders that govern how long a sleep dart takes effect or how many opponents will gang up on you at the same time.
As a bonus, Dishonored 2 is jumping onto the “ironman” train, introducing a no-save, no-load option to play the game. Adding this roguelike element to a stealth game will prove very interesting as many players rely on quick-loading to make it through such games without being discovered and subsequently ganked. Though it may not be to everyone’s taste, as straight-up combat is likely unavoidable when “iron” is enabled, it will make the game even more challenging for players seeking new thrills.
Last, but not least, is the option to replay a specific mission, which was present in Dishonored 1, but only now has been added to its sequel. On top of these gameplay additions, Bethesda also has fixed a slew of bugs, many of them graphics-related, which should make the game run a lot more smoothly. As most of these bugs were one of a kind, none of them seriously impeded the game, but to Bethesda’s credit the list is quite exhaustive, proving once again that it’s a studio that cares deeply about the experience it provides players.
