Fire Emblem Heroes Is Coming To iOS And Android Devices This February
Despite the company’s initial hesitation, Nintendo’s entry into the mobile scene has turned out to be quite the success. Pokemon Go was a major hit and ended up breaking records for first-week downloads. Super Mario Run hasn’t been quite as big of a deal, but it has still had strong sales. With that in mind, it should come as little surprise that Nintendo has recently unveiled a third mobile title. Fire Emblem Heroes will be coming to iOS and Andriod devices next month.
Fire Emblem Heroes is a tactical RPG set in the Fire Emblem universe. Players will take on the role of summoners and will call upon various heroes from the Fire Emblem franchises to aid them in turn-based combat. In addition to featuring fan favorites such as Marth, Fire Emblem Heroes will also introduce several new characters into Fire Emblem universe.
In addition to the game’s main story mode, Nintendo is promising that there will several other gameplay modes to ensure you have plenty to do. They said that more would be added over time, but at launch, we can expect:
- Story Maps Mode: You’ll see new faces as well as familiar ones as you try to save the Kingdom of Askr.
- Training Tower Mode: They say practice makes perfect, so choose different levels of difficulty to earn experience (EXP) and rewards for your allies. Every time you train, the game will change the terrain and enemies.
- Arena Duels Mode: Here’s where you get to test your abilities against rivals from anywhere in the world. You’ll get items based on your ranking and high score which can be used to strengthen your Hero.
- Hero Battles Mode: Different battle scenarios will be made available to you for a limited time. If you can defeat the Heroes here, you can convert them into an ally.
Unlike Super Mari Run, Fire Emblem Heroes will be a freemium title meaning that it will be free to download, but Nintendo will charge you for certain perks and features. The details of this model have not been revealed.
Fire Emblem Heroes will be available for iOS and Andriod devices February 2nd.
