Teclast X5 Pro To Launch January 23
The Teclast X5 Pro will be launching on January 23. It is currently available for pre-order from online retailer, Gearbest, with a retail price of $595
In terms of display, the X5 Pro will feature a 12.2-inch screen that supports a resolution of 1920 x 1200. However, Techtablets.com noted that the screen only produced about 190 lux at maximum brightness. This was probably done in order to increase the device’s battery life, but it will make the device difficult to use outdoors so that may be a deal-breaker for some people.
In terms of operating systems, the X5 Pro gives users the option to use either Windows 10 or Android. The Intel Core M3-7Y30 Kaby Lake processor is a decent upgrade over Teclast’s previous efforts, though it isn’t as powerful as high-end tablets or notebooks. In terms of memory, the device features a 240GB hard drive and 8GB of RAM.While not the best tablet for gaming, Techtablets.com said the X5 Pro was capable of running GTA V, but the framerate fluctuated anywhere from 21 to 35 FPS.
According to Gearbest, the device’s battery will last about four hours which is about average – gaming or other power-intensive activities will likely drain it faster.
The device will also feature a front and rear camera, speakers, and type A and C USB support. Additionally, the 240 GB hard drive can be augmented via the use of TransFlash (TF) cards up to an additional 128 GB.
Those who prefer to use a keyboard instead of typing on the touchscreen will have to purchase that and the kickstand separately. The keyboard does come with a touchpad, but one reviewer described it as “average” at best. Unfortunately, it appears that the keyboard and kickstand are not currently available for preorder so it is possible they won’t be ready in time for the X5 Pro’s launch.
