CyberPowerPC Unveils New Oculus Rift Bundle
Virtual reality is one of those things that we all dreamed about as a kid. So far, reality hasn’t quite caught up with our childhood fantasies, but they are companies are making improvements every day. Aside from sound and graphics, the price point is a major limiting fact. However, even that is also being addressed thanks to lower-priced graphics cards and technologies such as Asynchronous Spacewarp. In another sign of declining prices, CyberPowerPC and Oculus announced a new bundle that features everything you need to get started with VR gaming.
The CyberPowerPC Gamer Ultra VR GUAVR3000B1 PC features the AMD FX-4350 quad-core processor, Radeon RX 470 graphics card, and 4GB of GDDR5. In terms of data storage, the PC comes with a one terabyte hard drive and 8 GB of memory. The PC’s retail price is $650, but as part of the Oculus bundle, you can buy it and the Oculus Rift for $1,099.98. Purchased separately, they would cost you $1,249.98 so going this route would save you $150.
Eric Cheung, CEO of CyberPowerPC has said:
This bundle will be the first complete AMD Oculus-ready gaming PC that provides the full experience of VR gaming at an affordable price.
Oculus co-founder, Nate Mitchell, said:
Less than a year after launching the Oculus Ready program, we’re thrilled to see that the all-in price for jumping into the highest-quality VR experience continues to drop by hundreds of dollars. Thanks to the efforts of hardware companies like CyberPowerPC and AMD, more people will have the opportunity to enjoy the amazing games and experiences coming to Rift this year.
This bundle is currently only available at Best Buy, but other retailers, such as Amazon, should have it fairly soon.
