Cortana Will Coming To The IoTs With Windows 10 Creators Update
Cortana is pretty much the best digital assistant out there. When I say the best I mean best in terms that it feels the least artificial out of the lot. While Google’s assistant does cut it too, Siri seems to be a thing of the past now. Even though Windows phones have not worked out for Microsoft it turns out that the company has other plans for Cortana. Cortana will be coming to the internet of things with the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update.
This means that if you have a smart device in your home then Cortana will be available on that device as well and you will be able to interact with Cortana and have stuff done on the go. Now you may think that this would be crazy but imagine Cortana reminding you that you are low on milk when you are at the local store. That would be something really cool.
According to Microsoft program manager Carla Forester:
“This will enable you to build devices with displays, so you get that immersive Cortana experience. Any kind of smart device with a screen can now take advantage of Cortana.”
Any device that has a display and runs Windows 10 will be able to take advantage of Cortana. This is something that we only saw in movies but is now coming to reality. You will be able to have your dream smart house. This might not be as attractive as you think as of right now but this opens a lot of potential for the future. There is a lot of improvement that can be made further down the line.
Windows 10 Creators Update will be coming out in 2017 and it will also feature gaming related updates. Windows 10 Creators Update is designed with creators in mind so that will be something to look forward to. What do you think about the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update and Cortana coming to the internet of things?
