Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Has Multi-GPU Support But No DX12
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 was coming in January 2017 but has now been delayed to April. It seems that the developers will not be giving players the option of running the game in DX12. But Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 will feature multi-GPU support as well as HDR. The delay is because developers need more time to optimize the game for consoles and PC.
A custom version of CryEngine is being used to make the game and it will be available on PS4 at 1080p, 30 FPS and 900p, 30 FPS on the Xbox One. The developers were also asked about the possibilities of running Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 on the PS4 Pro in 4K and this is what they had to say about the console:
“We are very excited about the possibilities of the PS4 Pro and definitely plan to explore some of the features to deliver a unique experience to the Pro owners, without being unfair towards the PS4 players”
This means that we might see an enhanced version of Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 on the PS4 Pro. Although the details have not been talked about yet we might learn more about the enhancements later on.
“The PS4 Pro is built to sport 4K gaming and our insights so far prove the power of this technology. We are already looking forward to take all the technological advantages offered by the PS4 Pro into our development of our future games”.
HDR support will be coming to the PS4 and the Xbox One and PC will be getting multi-GPU support but the developer will not be providing DX12 support for Sniper Ghost Warrior 3. This is what the developers have to say about that:
“We are planning to offer HDR support for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Yes, we will support multiGPU configs at launch. But due to technical reasons, we will not support DX12”
From what I have seen so far Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 seems like a great game. As the game is coming out early 2017 it would be a great way to kick off the year.
