Samsung Galaxy S8 Will Feature Digital Assistant To Match Google
Samsung has been making acquisitions in order to make the Samsung Galaxy S8 a better product. Looking at how important AI is for smartphone manufacturers it is good to see that Samsung is making the move no matter how late the company may be to the party.
The company claims that they will also be making future acquisitions in order to make AI even better. Apple has Siri and Google has their own digital assistant as well. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will have one of its own that will be based on Viv. Samsung previously acquired Viv and it has been co-created by Dag Kittlaus the same person that ran Siri before Apple bought it.
Viv will be a new upgrade featured in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and it seems that it will be necessary for the company to compete against Google and Apple. The company has gone through a tremendous loss due to the Note 7 incidents and there is now a dent in Samsung’s reputation. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is a very important product for Samsung to make a comeback.
I do not think that Viv on the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be a differentiating factor for the device but it will allow Samsung to get on par with other competing brands. The team behind Viv has a very ambitious vision for what the digital assistant could be but now that Samsung has acquired the brand it might not see the light of day.
Needless to say advancements in AI will help Samsung in the long term as well as the Samsung Galaxy S8 launch which is due next year. This will be a very important launch for the company. Let’s see what the Samsung Galaxy S8 has to offer.
What do you think about Viv and the Galaxy S8?
