AMD Zen Summit Ridge Overclocking Variants Aimed At Overclockers

Intel has their K-series SKUs when it comes to CPUs. These have unlocked multipliers, meaning that if you have the correct type of motherboard then you can overclock these a fair bit.
AMD seems to be going down the same road with their AMD Zen Summit Ridge series processors. Word has it that there will be AMD Zen Summit Ridge CPUs that will be aimed at overclockers as these overclockable variants will be able to go up a fair amount as compared to their non-overclockable variants.
Rumors suggest that there will be at least one AMD Zen Summit Ridge overclockable variant and that these will come with a higher clock speed out of the box and will have a higher overclocking margin as well. It has been suggested that this AMD Zen Summit Ridge CPU will have 8 cores and a TDP of 95W.
These special AMD Zen Summit Ridge series processors will feature a higher price as they will be able to pack a punch. We will need to see how users respond to this. While Intel has only the K-series that can be overclocked, AMD offers unlocked multipliers across the board. We will have to see whether these new processors will be worth the extra money. More importantly, if users will deem them worthy or not.
Last but not least, it seems that these AMD Zen Summit Ridge series processors will not come with a heatsink out of the box like the regular models do. AMD did release their Wraith cooler a while back but it seems that these overclockable CPUs will need something much better than that.
AMD Zen Summit Ridge series processors are expected to come out early 2017 so stay tuned for that. What do you think about these new CPUs coming out aimed at overclockers and PC enthusiasts?
