MSI RX 460 Silently Appears On The Company’s Website
MSI seems to be interested in staying under the radar as the company has silently released their MSI RX 460 2G OC GPU. With the launch of AMD’s RX 460 yesterday, pretty much every AMD partner announced their custom variant except MSI.
The company has been a long time partner of AMD so it’s not really a surprise that MSI is making their custom variant, what’s surprising however is them not announcing it like they usually do with their multiple different versions of the same GPU.
The MSI RX 460 was silently listed on the company’s website, although there is still no listing or details about their custom version RX 480 which MSI actually did confirm that they are making.
As expected from an entry level GPU, the MSI RX 460 2G OC features a single fan cooler like the reference model of RX 460. The GPU is slightly overclocked to 1210MHz while AMD’s reference specifications call for a 1200MHz boost clock. The memory remains same at 7000MHz.
Like the name of the GPU suggests, it will feature 2GB of VRAM and it is still unclear whether there will be a 4GB model in the future or not. Since MSI has said there will be more than one model of all their GPUs, including RX 460, there is a high possibility that there will be a Gaming version of MSI RX 460 featuring 4GB of memory.
While there may have been a lot of custom GPU announcements, those models still might not be able to make a huge performance difference resulting in very few people making the purchase. No launch date or price of the MSI RX 460 is known yet.
