The RX 470 has just been launched by AMD and we are already getting leaks for aftermarket RX 470s and 460s. The Asus Strix RX 460 was leaked on the internet and you can see all the specs and benchmarks courtesy of VideoCardz.

The Asus Strix RX 460 is a really good looking GPU. The dual fan setup will provide great cooling for your MOBA gaming sessions and the black and red is good too if you have the same color scheme going for your PC build.

The Asus Strix RX 460 offers huge improvements over the reference model. Asus claims that the Strix RX 460 is not only more powerful but it is also quieter and runs cooler than the reference AMD RX 460. Having said that, if all this is true then the Asus variant should pack a punch and should be worth the premium that users will have to pay.

Asus Strix RX 460 OC Performance Benchmarks

Following are performance benchmarks of the GPU. Here we can see that the Asus Strix RX 460 OC is faster than the reference model in Fire Strike Extreme. It is also 30% cooler and 3 times quieter.

Performance benchmarks are one thing and they do provide a good idea of how well the GPU performs but the best test is checking performance in games. Here are the gaming benchmarks of the GPU.

Here you can see that the Asus version performs better than the AMD RX 460 reference model. It performs better in both Doom and Hitman, both at ultra settings. The games are playable with the Asus version while the same cannot be said for the reference model. The gap seems to be smaller when it comes to Doom but the difference is very big in Hitman.
