Gigabyte Launches Four GTX 1060 Custom Variants
Nvidia’s partners decided to launch their GTX 1060 custom variants on the same day as the official reference mode, or well at least some of them did. Gigabyte on the other hand took their time with their GTX 1060 custom variants and it seems like those extra few days might be paying off soon.
The company decided to enter the market with not one, not two but four different models of their GTX 1060 custom GPU. As always the case, their entire GTX 1060 line up consists of budget friendly model as well as top tier performance one to ensure everyone has something to look forward to if they decide to buy one from Gigabyte.
The cheapest card of the bunch, GTX 1060 D5 features the company’s Windforce 2X cooling solution with dual 90mm fans. Gigabyte has not mentioned the specifications of the heatpipes but the heatsink is smaller compared to the others since the card is noticeably smaller too. It still features the company’s usual RGB lighting and semi-passive fans which stop when the GPU is under light load.
The GTX 1060 Mini ITX OC is the next card in their lineup, featuring 2 copper heatpipes cooled by a single 90mm fan. Overclocking might not be a good idea on this one although it might still have decent factory clock speeds. This one is perfect for small PC builds.
GTX 1060 Windforce OC is part of the company’s most mainstream model. It is cooled by the typical Windforce 2X cooler and features a single copper heat pipe but given Gigabyte’s history, it’s highly unlikely users will run into any cooling troubles while staying at the factory overclock speeds.
Lastly, the premium GTX 1060 gaming experience from Gigabyte comes with the G1 Gaming model. As always with this model, it is the most expensive GPU from the entire lineup but also delivers amazing performance thanks to great factory overclocking.
The card features 6+1 power phases to ensure stability during heavy load while two 90mm fans cooling 2 copper heatpipes keep the temperatures in the safe range. The card also features a LED fan indicator light besides the usual RGB one and a decent looking backplate.
Gigabyte has not revealed the prices of any of these models.
