Web Links Related iOS 9.3 Bug is Causing Crashes, Here’s the Fix
A ton of iOS users have been complaining recently about a specific iOS 9.3 bug that is causing the devices to stop responding to taps on external links in Safari as well as in other apps. It looks like the problem is being caused by one specific app, the popular “Booking.com” app.
According to the data that we have been ale to collect, the problem is being caused by a feature that Apple has provided to the developers that lets them link their websites to their apps, called Universal Links.
Now this feature does have a limit to the number of links one developer should add, but Booking.com ignored that and added each and every link available on their website to the app taking up about 2.3 MB of space which is way more than what iOS wouldd usually bear.
This gave birth to the iOS 9.3 bug which chokes the operating system every time a link is opened, whether it is in Safari or another app. We are not sure if it is due to the size of the files itself or some other related bug that has sprung up due to this.
However, what does happen is that no matter what you do, the link will not open and if you long press on it, the app itself will crash.
iOS 9.3 Bug – How too Fix the Crashes
On to the fixes now. While Apple is yet to dedicate an update to the problem, there are a number of workarounds. Firstly, what you can do is restart the operating system.
Reboot > download app > enable Airport > open app > reboot > delete app > disable airport mode > open Safari > long press a link.
Do keep in mind that this fix for the iOS 9.3 bug has worked for many but not everyone.
