Intel Launches Low Power Core i7-6660U Processor At $415
Intel has just added new mobile microprocessor, with model number Core i7-6660U, to its pricelist. The newly released CPU belongs to Skylake-U class of processors with low or ultra low power consumption, and is set to replace Core i7-6650U, that was available in laptop PCs since last September.
According to the Intel pricelist, the Core i7-6660U is based on 14nm process technology, and features 2 CPU cores, clocked at 2.4 GHz, and 4 MB of last level cache. The CPU is capable of running 4 threads at once; however, information related to overclocking is not available at this time.
Moreover, the new i7-6660U features the same type of integrated graphics as the i7-6500U SKU, including Iris 540, and the same 15 Watt TDP. The i7-6660U will support most Skylake extensions and technologies, such as AVX 2, AES, Turbo Boost, and VT-x / VT-d virtualization.
Other peripherals include PCI Express 3.0 interface, SATA controller, USB controller, and Legacy I/O.
