Sony Unveils Its First Ever 2.5in SLW-M Series Consumer SSDs
Sony is all set to make their international debut in the NAND flash storage business for consumers. The company has just unveiled their new 2.5″ SLW-M series SATA SSDs, which support sequential read and write speeds of up to 560MB/s and 530MB/s respectively, on the SATA 6Gbps drive.
The new SSD drives are built in the 7 mm thick 2.5-inch form-factor, which means you should be able to install them in select notebooks with upgradeable drive bays. Available in capacities of 240 GB (SLW-MG2) and 480 GB (SLW-MG4), the SSDs feature a 9.5 mm spacer, along with a license to Acronis True image 2015 HD.
Further, they come bundled with Sony’s SSD Toolbox for quickly managing and saving your data. The full list of key features include:

The SLW-M series SSDs are available locally now in all Sony stores, with the 240 GB SLW-MG2 costing S$139, and the 480 GB (SLW-MG4) priced at S$259.
