Xperia M is the First Sony Handset to Receive the Official CyanogenMod 13 Nightly
The Xperia M (C1904, C1905) is not exactly one of the latest smartphones from Sony, but thanks to the hard work of developer PecanCM (Ron Gokhale) over at XDA, it has become the first Sony handset to receive official CyanogenMod 13.0 nightly builds.
Xperia M owners will now be able to make a generation leap from Android 4.3 to 6.0.1 Marshmallow through these official nightlies, thus benefiting from all the exciting features of the latest Google operating system.
The ROM is reasonably stable with most of the features fully functional, with the exception of Doze mode, NFC support and some others (complete list of device-related bugs available HERE).
If you are an Xperia M owner and want to move to Marshmallow, make sure you are running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware and have an unlocked bootloader with a recovery installed (either CWM or TWRP).
Unfortunately, Xperia M Dual owners won’t be able to receive official nightlies due to an known data bug that affects the second SIM.
