Report: AMD Radeon R9 Fury X2 Coming this Holiday
AMD has generated a lot of buzz with its amazing R9 Nano, a compact little card, standing tall in front of Titan X and 980 Ti in terms of performance.
Now, a new report wants us to believe that AMD is ready to release a new beast of a card known as R9 Fury X2.
It’s not just any card, it is said to be the world’s fastest Dual Fiji based GPU.
I would like to point out that the name is still not finalized, but R9 Fury X2 or Fury Maxx is suggested. The best part is that AMD is reportedly adding 8GB of HBM memory (4GB for each GPU) in R9 Fury X2.
R9 Fury X2 is using 2 GPUs on a single board, across both, we have 8096 Stream Processors. AMD is also adding a couple of 8-pin PCIe power connectors, which indicate TDP of up to 375W.
The report also claims that Fury X2 is significantly smaller compared to our usual dual GPUs.
In CrossFire performance, the card is expected to beat both 980 Ti SLI as well as Nvidia Titan X SLI. We don’t expect anything less from the world’s fastest GPU, do we?
We can expect a release in the next couple of months.
