Samsung’s 32-inch Ultra HD Monitor with AMD FreeSync Now Available for $1,199 US
Samsung has launched their latest 32-inch Ultra HD monitor, the U32E850R, that comes with support for AMD FreeSync. The premium monitor is now available with a rather hefty price tag of $1,199 in the US, and for around €1,100 in Europe.
The Samsung U32E850R sports a 32-inch 3840 x 2160 (4K Ultra HD) resolution panel that uses Samsung’s PLS technology. The monitor features a rated maximum brightness of 350 cd/m², 4ms grey-to-grey response times, 178-degree viewing angles in both directions, and a contrast ratio of 1000:1.
According to the manufacturer, the U32E850R has a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz, though the minimum refresh rate is not known. We expect it to have a a minimum refresh rate of 30 Hz or lower, so that it could take the full advantage of AMD’s adaptive refresh technology (FreeSync) while gaming.
As for the input support, the monitor includes a DisplayPort 1.2a port, mini-DisplayPort 1.2a, and two HDMI 2.0 ports, as well as a USB 3.0 hub with four ports.
The stand for the Samsung U32E850R supports height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustements.
At $1,199, Samsung’s latest offering is a bit pricey compared to other 32-inch 4K monitors in the market, such as Acer’s B326HK that currently retails for $900.
