G.Skill Prepares For The Arrival of Intel Skylake With 4GT/s DDR4 memory
Intel will soon ship Skylake processors and those who are looking to build a Skylake based PC, G.Skill has announced a line-up of some very impressive memory chips.
Users will be able to select from the Trident Z and Ripjaws V series of DIMMs. The company is claiming the Trident Z to be the first of its kind to run at 4,000 MT/s. Trident Z is available in speeds between 2,800 MT/s and 4,000 MT/s. The maker is also claiming it to be built using the best Samsung memory chips.
Interestingly, G.Skill said that the chip was able to achieve 4000 MT/s with a ASRock Z170 OC Formula motherboard.
The new Trident Z DDR4 memory is the successor to the high-end Trident memory series and making its debut on the latest DDR4 standard, designed and tested for the next generation Skylake-S platform! For the first time in the history of extreme memory kits, Trident Z is entering the arena with a 4000MHz memory kit, built with highest-end Samsung IC memory chips and validated on the ASRock Z170 OC Formula motherboard.
It features single-piece design that will help heat dissipation from heat spreader to cooling fin.
We also have Ripjaws V line that comes in at 2,133 MT/s to 3,733 MT/s. These are also built on Samsung chips and the top end model manages to hit 3,733 MT/s with latency of 17-19-19-39 and 1.35V.
Trident Z is at 19-25-25-45 timings and a 1.4 volts by the way.
