Lumia 950 And 950 XL Will Cost More than Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 – Report
New rumors have surfaced online claiming that Microsoft’s upcoming Lumia flagship smartphones, the Lumia 940 and Lumia 950 XL, will be priced higher than Samsung Galaxy S6 or even the iPhone 6.
The Lumia 950 XL will be the more expensive of the two, and considering the pricing for the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6, it will cost at least €700 outright at launch.
The report comes from a Dutch blog MyWindows.nl, which also suggests that the Lumia flagship duo will feature a polycarbonate chassis, which means there won’t be any metal included. Rest of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL specs are nearly the same as revealed in previous rumors.
The Lumia 950 is said to feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 808 chipset, 3GB RAM, 20MP PureView rear camera with triple-LED flash, and a front-facing 5MP camera.
The Lumia 950 XL, on the other hand, is expected to arrive with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, 20MP PureView rear camera with triple-LED flash, and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies.
The report also confirms that that the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will be equipped with an iris scanner, and support Continuum. However, an additional adapter will be required to enable this Continuum feature. The adapter will reportedly be launched in early 2016, and will cost around €100.
