Microsoft Tossup, A Social Polling App To Help You Make Plans with Friends
Microsoft Garage is noted as the company’s “24-hour idea factory”, where its developers explore new ideas. Up until now, some of their ideas have been realized into full-blown programs and been released to the public.
Tossup is the next app to emerge from the Microsoft Garage, which aims at helping you and your friends make those hard decisions by general opinion. The app acts as a hub where you create a question to start and and then poll your friends, getting their opinions and responses either through the app or over SMS if they don’t have Tossup installed.
In addition to creating polls with simple Yes or No questions, you’ve also got the choice of integrating the option for custom suggestions.
Further, Yelp ratings are built right into the app. Which means while your friends vote on their preferences and provide suggestions for where and when to eat or meet up, the app will pull up reviews and details about the spot.
Tossup is designed with the goal to remove the hassle of having to coordinate plans over various media from email, chat or SMS, and then remembering everyone’s responses. So if you’re the one who is often charged with organizing things, a little app like this could come in handy.
