Steam Records 10 Million Simultaneous Logins For The First Time
Steam, digital game store, continues to build its concurrent usage by crossing over 10 million logins.
This is for the third time during 2015 when Steam has broken its own previous record, and has replaced it with a new one. In January, 8.5 million concurrent users were witnessed; in March the number of simultaneous logins increased to 9 million; and on this Sunday 10 million users logged in Steam at the same time.
According to sources, the massive influx of logins was mainly due to the ongoing Steam Monster Summer Sale. Users are logging into the site to get the discounts on number of new deals on daily basis. The Summer Sale will expire by 10:00 AM PST, June 22nd.
The Steam’s game stats page suggests that the 10 million logins benchmark was achieved before the clock struck 11 (PST). The figures remained consistent until noon, observes MaximumPC.
“Our on-going goal with Steam is to improve the service we offer customers. We believe that by sharing this data, we’ll be able to spot problems earlier, improve the Steam service more efficiently, and ultimately build better products and experiences. Let us know what you think,” reads the Steam’s game stats page.
