LG G4 Now Supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 Technology
LG confirms that their latest smartphone LG G4 will be offering the Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 feature after all. The company, that previously denied using the quick charge technology as part of their phones, has now issued a statement that they have added it in the list of features used.
LG’s main focus remained on the ‘removable’ battery which most the smartphones today were not offering and an extra battery that can be used in case of emergencies. However, they have now included the quick charge option as it comes in handy with the processor they are using.
According to LG, they did not exactly needed to ad this feature but since it was a nice addition, so they introduced it.
At the end of the day, we see Quick Charge as a nice-to-have, not a must-have, since we offer a replacement battery. This is what we’ll continue to focus on.
LG G4 is powered by Snapdragon 808 SoC processor that supports this technology and in just 30 minutes you can charge your phone up to 60%. Although the packaging of the box does not include the charger which is compatible with quick charge.
So all the LG users who were feeling bad about not having the quick charge option can relax because a charger does not cost as much as the other high end smartphones offering the same feature. Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 page has also added LG’s G4 to its list.
Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M8 and M9, Nexus 6 and Moto X are other phones which offer Quick Charge 2.0.
