Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (Wi-Fi) Receives Android Lollipop 5.0.2
After characteristic delay, Samsung has started releasing Android 5.0.2 Lollipop for Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Prior to the update, aforesaid tablet was running outdated Android KitKat.
Samsung’s version of the Android operating system, called TouchWiz, puts most of the recent material design improvements out of the sight. Consequently, aesthetics of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Wi-Fi are concerned; they will remain pretty much indistinguishable to the older version.
Still the update will bring couple of changes for users’ experience. Two of the most important improvements include options for multitasking and a much better system for notifications. Efficiency and speed enhancement of the operating system is also guaranteed.
Samsung has commenced releasing over-the-air update for several regions. Obviously, the company will provide updates to all Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Wi-Fi version devices gradually.
Users who have not received the update until now, and are too desperate to have it immediately, may consider using the Samsung Kies support software. This software supposedly allows downloading and installation of the app.
In the recent past, some users of the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop have been found complaining of multiple bugs in the operating system. These bugs are being associated with constant battery drainage and poor performance of the operating system.
Traditionally, Samsung has never been very active releasing updates for its devices. But as per the Android Lollipop is concerned, Samsung has done it at quite a good pace.
