Event for Razer Phone 2 announced, specifications possibly leaked
Razer has entered the smartphone market with its debut phone, the Razer Phone, and it looks like they’re here to stay. The company has sent out invites for a press event that will be held on October 10th for the unveiling of the Razer Phone 2 – just one day after Google announces its Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones.
The existence of the second-generation Razer phone doesn’t come as a complete surprise, as specifications and benchmarks of the device have been previously leaked. A possible render of the upcoming smartphone has been leaked by Android Headlines, showing minimal differences with the previous version – although the phone now does appear to have slightly larger bezels.
Just like its predecessor, the Razer Phone 2 aims to be a powerhouse. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-a-chip accompanied by no less than 8 gigabytes of internal memory. The 1080p display has a regular aspect ratio of 16:9 and measures at 5.7 inches. Just like the regular Razer Phone, the screen’s refresh rate is 120 Hz, which should result in a more fluent user experience.
According to PhoneArena, the Razer Phone 2 will also come with a 512 GB storage option this time. It’s likely that the phone will release shortly after the announcement, possibly in the final week of October.
