Logitech Announces ‘Powered’ Wireless Qi Charger Aimed Towards iPhone Users
Logitech has announced ‘Powered’, which is the name for the company’s debut in the wireless Qi charger market. Even though the Powered is heavily aimed towards iPhone and more particularly, iPhone X users, the wireless charger is compatible with all other Qi-supported devices as well.
The wireless charger is the result of a collaboration with Apple, and the wireless charging stand is specifically designed so that it doesn’t obstruct the view of Face ID. In other words, you’ll be able to unlock and use your phone while it’s charging wirelessly, and the Powered can also hold your phone in landscape mode as well.
The Powered charger supports up to 7.5 watts of continuous power delivery, although that is only possible for iPhones such as the iPhone 8 series and the iPhone X. The upcoming new iPhone generation in September will also be compatible with Logitech’s new wireless charger. Other Qi-smartphones, such as Samsung’s Galaxy S series, for example, will also be supported – although power delivery will be limited to 5 watts, meaning charging will go slower.
Logitech also states that notification or phone vibrations won’t be able to move the smartphone, meaning it won’t fall out of the stand or disrupt the charging process.
The Powered should be available in the coming days and will change hands for a recommended retail price of $79.99.
