JBL Introduces Link View Smart Display With Google Assistant

By Jonathan Maes  /  7 months ago Share Tweet

Smart speakers such as Amazon’s Echo, Google Home, and Apple’s HomePod have been very popular products lately, and it looks like some manufacturers will go even one step further by adding a display. JBL has now introduced the Link View Smart Display with built-in Google Chromecast and Google Assistant functionality.

The smart device features an 8-inch touchscreen display along with dual 10-watt speakers. The device runs on Google Assistant, meaning that the voice controls are identical to that of the Google Home. The Link View Smart Display does feature a number of additional features because of the screen.

For example, you’ll be able to make video calls over Google Duo, and apps such as YouTube, Google Play Movies and HBO Now are also compatible with JBL’s smart home display. Apparently, other video streaming services (such as Netflix and Hulu) would be made available in the future.

The JBL Link View also supports Bluetooth to connect devices or other speakers. The smart home device is scheduled to launch on September 3rd for a recommended retail price of $249,95.
