Rumor: Apple To Introduce New Mac Mini And Other Product Refreshes Later This Year
The current Apple Mac Mini model hasn’t been updated since 2014, but it looks like the Cupertino company is finally working on a successor for its smallest computer. Reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the company will introduce is an updated version of the Mac Mini with new hardware, along with a number of other Apple product refreshes.
In the same report, Kuo predicted that Apple would give its MacBook Pro line-up a spec boost, which Apple officially confirmed. The man says that regular MacBooks are next, and a new laptop would also be introduced that would replace the current MacBook Air line-up, which is the most affordable line-up of Mac notebooks. The analyst says Apple is also working on updating its desktop line-up of iMacs with improved displays, most likely with support for TrueTone.
The new Mac Mini would reportedly feature a similar design, but with up-to-date specifications and hardware. Intel has just recently announced new CPUs, and it’s likely a Coffee Lake CPU will be featured in the new Mac Mini’s.
Aside from the iPhone rumors that have been extensively reported in the past, Kuo also says that Apple is working on new iPads with Face ID from the iPhone X and screen sizes of 11 and 12.9 inches. The new AirPods revision would come with a charging chase that can be charged wirelessly on the previously announced Airpower mat or other Qi-approved chargers.
A new generation of Apple Watch devices would also be in the making, with larger screens as the main change. The 38 mm Watch would increase the screen size from 1.5 inches to 1.57 inches, while the larger 42 mm smartwatch would go from 1.65″ to 1.78 inches.
