Technical Specifications of the Galaxy J4 and J6 Surface Online
Even though the high-end Samsung Galaxy S series of smartphone tend to gather the most attention, the South-Korean company is also constantly working on updating its mid-range and budget smartphones. The Galaxy J4 and J6 are two examples of upcoming mid-range Samsung devices, and the specifications have been leaked and reported by Sammobile.
The Galaxy J6 will be positioned as the more affordable option, carrying a Samsung Exynos 7870 processor operating at 1.6 GHz. Although specific details of the screen panel haven’t been made available including the resolution, the system-on-a-chip suggests that the J6 will be outfitted with a 720p display. What we do know is that the J6 will have an AMOLED panel and a screen size of 5.6 inches. The leak also reports that the phone will come in variants with 2 GB, 3 GB or 4 GB of internal memory and either 32 or 64 gigabytes of storage, expandable with a MicroSD card.
The back of the device features a 13-megapixel camera and the fingerprint scanner, with an 8-megapixel snapper positioned at the front. Battery capacity is rated at 3000 mAh.
The Galaxy J4 will have a slightly smaller screen at 5.5 inches, but it’s still unknown which type of panel this cheaper smartphone will use, although it is very likely that the resolution will be 1280 x 720.
The J4 features a lower clocked Exynos 7570 soc running at 1.4 GHz and will come in variants with either 2 or 3 gigabytes of internal story. The J4 has the same back camera as the J6, although the front snapper has a resolution of only 5 megapixels. Sketches of the J4 from a user manual have been leaked, suggesting that the fingerprint scanner is integrated into the home button instead of being positioned at the back of the device.
Pricing or availability details haven’t been announced yet, but we’ll likely hear about these new budget smartphones from Samsung soon. It’s likely that both devices will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, with Samsung’s Experience UI skin on top.
