EKWB Introduces New EK-FC1080 Water Block for ASUS GTX 1080 Ti
ASUS’s popular GTX 1080 Ti Strix graphics card has undergone a couple of changes regarding the PCB’s design at the end of last year, which also resulted in a couple of water cooling solutions that were no longer compatible with the high-end graphics card. The new EK-FC1080 aims to fix that issue.
Popular water cooling manufacturer EK Water Blocks stated that four of its compatible cooling blocks were no longer compatible with the new version of the ASUS GTX 1080 Ti Strix. EK’s revised water block will now be known as the EK-FC1080 GTX Ti Strix RGB and fits perfectly with the new graphics card.
The cooling manufacturer states that their water block doesn’t only cool the GPU itself, but also takes care of the cooling of the VRAM memory and the VRM’s. According to the company, cooler VRM’s should result in a more stable voltage under heavy load.
The EK-FC1080 GTX Ti Strix RGB uses a combination of nickel-plated copper at the bottom along with transparent acryl material at the front. The block should also work well with weaker water cooling pumps and also features built-in RGB lights, just like its graphics card counterpart. The water block is powered by a single 4-pin connector.
The new water block is available for purchase right now on EK’s own website for around $187 USD.
