Corsair Announces The Vengeance Series DDR4 RAM
Who has the fastest memory kits on the planet? Honestly, it seems to depend on which company most recently announced a new product. Corsair announced that it’s new Corsair Vengeance Series DDR4 SODIMM are the fastest in the world. While it will be difficult to gauge if those claims are true, it is likely that they are very fast memory kits so let’s see what Corsair has on offer.
One thing that does set Corsair apart from the competition is the fact that the company is targeting both laptop users and those using desktops. Normally SODIMM memory kits are meant for use in laptops, but recent years have seen an increase in desktops with a smaller form factor. Such devices even have interest among some gamers who would rather have something small and compact instead of a large tower set-up.
In terms of actual components, Corsair’s latest offering is a 32GB kit with four 8GB modules and an eight-layer PCB. They are designed using Samsung’s B-die IC memory chips. In terms of speed, the chips are running at DDR4-4000 MHz.
One other feature that will likely be of interest to many in the gaming community is the fact that the chips feature Intel XMP 2.0 support. This should allow for easy overclocking and tuning thus eliminating the need to manually modify BIOS settings. Those should make things easier for those who want to customize the chips’ settings.
Those who are interested in the company’s latest offerings can find them on Corsair’s website where they retail for $600. Like many of Corsair’s memory kits, these will feature a lifetime limited warranty.
Overall, these may or may not be the “world’s fastest,” but they are certainly looking like something that may be of interest to those looking for fast DDDR4 RAM for laptops or smaller desktops.
