Leak Reveals Alleged Specs For OnePlus 5T
This year has been a great one for smartphones. We’ve seen the release of several new iPhones, the Pixel 2, Galaxy S8, Essential and many others. However, the reveals aren’t over yet and it looks like OnePlus has one more smartphone up their sleeve.
For months, we’ve been hearing rumors that OnePlus was planning on releasing a version of the OnePlus 5 with an edge-to-edge display and increased specs. Lately, those rumors have increased and now we have an alleged leak of the phone’s specs.
The leak doesn’t say anything regarding about an edge-to-edge display, but we would be surprised if OnePlus didn’t include one as that’s one of the hottest trends in smartphones. Skipping out on the trend for the OnePlus 5, but adding it for the 5T would track with how OnePlus normally does things. They make great phones for affordable prices, but don’t generally offer the latest features right away. However, bezel-less screens are quickly becoming the norm.
Cameras are swiftly becoming one of the most important features on smartphones. There have been more than a few articles praising the fact that the iPhone Xs’ camera is allegedly better than a $1,000 camera and Google has bragged about the Pixel 2’s photo quality. It’s looking like OnePlus does not want to be left behind in the camera wars. The OnePlus 5T will feature two rear-facing 20MP cameras.
In terms of software, we can safely assume that it will be running OnePlus’ Oxygen OS which is fairly close to stock Android. There are some minor tweaks, but nothing major. AnTuTu’s leak reveals that the OnePlus 5T is running Android 8.0 Oreo so users should get the latest version of Android.
As of right now, none of these rumors have been confirmed so don’t treat any of this as definitive, but we expect OnePlus to reveal something fairly soon.
