Huawei Reveals Price and Specs For Upcoming Line of Mate 10 Phones
Huawei has officially unveiled its next flagship phone, the Mate 10. Like many other flagship phones of this year, the Mate 10 will feature an edge-to-edge display with minimal bezels. From what we’ve seen, the phone itself certainly looks nice featuring a large display and bright colors though that is to be expected of Huawei.
In terms of hardware, the Mate 10 is powered by Huawei’s eight-core Kirin 970 chipset. The chipset clocks at 2.36GHz and features improved AI processing and an LTE modem as well as dual rear cameras. The amount of RAM varies depending on which model you get. The basic model offers 4GB of RAM whereas the Pro and Porsche model feature 6GB of RAM. Internal storage varies as well with the bade and Pro models offering 64GB of storage. Those who want more space will have to go with the Porsche model which features 256GB of internal storage.
Internal specs aside, the most obvious difference between these three phones are the screen sizes. The basic version of the Mate 10 features a 5.9-inch LCD with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440. The Pro and Porsche models feature a 6.0-inch OLED screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080. That being said, the basic version of the phone’s use of an edge-to-edge display ensure that it still offers plenty space for the screen.
The other major thing to consider when deciding which Mate 10 is right for you is the price. Huawei has not announced U.S. release dates or pricing yet, but we have the European numbers and, unfortunately, none of these phones are cheap though the lower tire models are all more affordable than the iPhone X. The basic model will retail for €699, the Pro will be €799 and the Porsche model will be €1,395 which officially makes it more expensive than the iPhone X.
