G.Skill Releases Trident Z Memory Kits Optimized For Coffee Lake
Intel recently launched its Coffee Lake processors and in response, G.Skill has announced a new DDR4 memory kit designed to take advantage of Intel’s latest line of processors.
The Trident Z memory kits are fitted with Samsung’s B-die DDR4 ICs which should make overclocking fairly simple. The Trident Z line will be available in a variety of different configurations. The Trident Z will offer base speeds of 4,000 MHz and will go up to 4,600 MHz. In terms of storage, the numbers range from 16 to 64 gigabytes. The multiple options give users the ability to customize their order to suit their memory needs though we expect that gamers will be the primary target audience for these.
This announcement is actually the third such one that G.Skill has made within the last month. The company now has Trident Z memory kits optimized for Intel’s Coffee Lake chips as well as Ryzen’s Threadripper line. It’s a smart move on the company’s part as they’re now positioned to market their memory kits to consumers regardless of which CPU they prefer.
G. Skill has not announced anything regarding the pricing of the Intel-optimized memory kits yet, but we imagine the price will vary based on which configuration users want. No official launch date has been announced, but G.Skill is shooting for a December release date so we don’t have too long to wait.
