ASUS Announces Portable 15,6″ ZenScreen MB16AC USB Display with IPS Panel
ASUS has announced a new portable monitor, the ZenScreen MB16AC. The monitor can be powered via either a USB Type A or USB Type C connection and has a diagonal of 15,6 inches. The display type is IPS and the monitor features a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display should be very portable and is suited for use with a laptop for example, with a weight of only 780 grams and a thickness of 8 millimeters.
When the screen is connected via either USB Type A or USB Type C, the signal will automatically be chosen. Users will need to download a separate driver to control the display via USB Type A however, but the USB Type C port features integrated DisplayPort technology for a native and driverless operation.
The panel itself has a maximum brightness of 220 brightness, which isn’t extremely high but also keeps the power consumption limited at less than eight watts. The monitor also features a built-in landscape or portrait recognition mode, which means that the display will automatically adjust to the right viewing settings in Windows.
The ZensScreen MB16AC monitor comes with a smart case that doubles as a foot for the display and as a protective case. The display also comes with an included regular ballpoint ben which is heavy and sturdy enough to double as a stand as well.
The ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC should be made available shortly, but a specific date or retail price hasn’t been released yet.
