Biostar Launches TB350-BTC AMD AM4 Motherboard Aimed At Crypto Mining
Biostar has just announced the release of a new AM4 motherboard: the TB350-BTC. As the name suggests, the motherboard is aimed at users who wish to explore mining cryptocurrency with their desktop computer, such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and others. Although it has become unprofitable to mine Bitcoins with GPU’s, some currencies such as Ethereum can still prove beneficial to mine.
The TB350-BTC uses AMD’s AM4 socket, which supports Ryzen and future AMD CPU’s. The TB350-BTC is Biostar’s AM4 version of their previously released TB250-BTC motherboard for Intel CPU’s.
The TB350-BTC uses six PCIe slots: three times PCIe 2.0 x1, two times PCIe 3.0 x1 and a single PCIe 3.0 x16 slot as well. The board is also equipped with two additional AUX power connectors, to make sure that all the graphics cards that are placed are presented with enough power to ensure a stable operation. According to the manufacturer, this motherboard should excel in durability and stability, which makes it ideal for mining cryptocurrency.
The board supports a maximum of 32 gigabytes of internal DDR4 2667 MHz memory in dual-channel configuration. As for the other specifications, the TB350-BTC features four SATA 600 ports, four USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0. Unfortunately, the board lacks USB 3.1 or Type C. It uses the Realtek RTL 8111H chip for gigabit ethernet and an ALC887 video codec.
Release date and pricing details of the motherboard are yet to be announced.
